about

13. I’m Confessin’ (That I Love You) :: We heard this Jazz standard, which was first recorded in the early 1930s,and immediately fell in love with it. Sung and played by Milton Brown and his Musical Brownies. The leader of Western Swing, Milton and his band, from Texas, recorded numerous hits and helped serve as the model for Western Swing that bands like Bob Willis and his Playboys would follow after. Unfortunately, after a tragic car accident, Milton died in 1936, leaving room for Bob Wills’ to take over the scene. This song is best when danced to with someone else.

lyrics

I'm confessin' that I love you, tell me that you love me, too
I'm confessin' I need you, honest I do, I need you every moment
In your eyes I read such strange things, still your lips deny they're true
Will your answer really change things, making me blue

I'm afraid some day you'll leave me, saying "Can't we still be friends?"
In the end you know you'll grieve me, all in life on you depends

I’m a guessing that you love me, dreaming dreams of you in vain
I'm confessing I love you, over again
